Wuxi Machinery and Electron Higher Professional and Technical School is a State-level key vocational and technical school led by Wuxi Education Bureau. It lies in Wuxi New Industrial District and covers 129000 square meters. The building area is over 70000 square meters. There are 320 teachers, staffs and 5500 students on the campus. Most of the students will receive five-year higher professional education. The main three specialties are Mechatronic, Electronic and Business Information. Among them, CNC Technology is the national demonstration specialty. The specialties of Computer and Electronic are the provincial level demonstration specialties.
The campus circumstances is very beautiful and teaching facility is excellent. Now there are 40 CNC machines, more than other 50 tools machines and over 900 sets electronic instruments. It owns 1000 computers and over 40 laboratories and workshops. The total value of the teaching equipment exceeds 28 million RBM.
Our school has excellent and qualified lecturers. It has one Famous Teacher in Wuxi, four Leading Teachers in Wuxi and six teachers are awarded Competitive Teachers in Wuxi. Over 40 lecturers have graduated or are studying Master Degrees curriculums. 30 lecturers have been sent to Germany，Singapore and trained there. 81 percent professional lecturers have both the certificates with teacher and technician. In the past years, many texts edited by our lecturers have been published by Higher Education Press and the Publishing House of Electronics Industry.
Since 1997，our school accepted aids from German government and carried out the co-operation project between Chinese and German governments. German Dual-System teaching model is introduced. We keep good relationship with over 60 foreign enterprises. Five classes are named with enterprises’ name. Not only the rate of employment is over 98% every year, but also graduates are able to get good positions. Recent years, nearly 100 graduates have been sent to abroad and train or employ in short term there.
In 2004, Chen Zhili, the member of State Council and Zhou Ji, the Minister of Education visited our school.
Since 2000, it is assigned as a key training centre for the teachers of vocational and technical schools by the Ministry of Education. It is also a national training centre of being urgent and short of technician and became a state and provincial level Model School. In 2002, it was pointed an Advanced Units of Professional Education in China. In 2005, Mr. Sun Jun Tai, headmaster, was awarded Outstanding Headmaster of Professional and Technical Education in China.
